Longest beaches in Latvia

Our favorite seaside are in Latvia are beaches around village of Jurkalne in the Ventspils district. The Jurkalne Bluffs are one of the most picturesque parts of Latvia’s seashore, with a quiet beach untouched by civilisation and bluffs of up to 20 metres high. The bluffs in Jurkalne belong to the landslide-landfall type. The largest amount of erosion can be observed in Jurkalne. The stairs that lead from the top of the bluffs to the beach have been replaced many times, due to the shore receding after powerful storms. It has been noticed that the shore can recede as fast as a few metres a year. Jurkalne offers ample opportunities for spending your holidays, there are several nice camping spots and couple nice restaurants in the area. Defiantly worth to spend a night or two in this area!

Camping in Saaremaa

Our favorite camping spot on Estonian island of Saaremaa is Muha Beach Holiday Home which is located in a peaceful and picturesque area, 30 km from Kuressaare in Western Saaremaa. A lovely beach is only 250 meters from the house. If you like fishing, take an easy 400 meter stroll down to the lake or the river. Muha Holiday Home is located in the nature reserve Natura 2000, where you can find a large variety of birds and plants. There is a special separate area for camping and caravans with two separate service houses. Great and welcoming owner!

Curonian Peninsula camping spot

Curonian Peninsula is a Nature Reserve, therefore wild camping is forbidden. But there is a great Camping spot with all amenities, we love this place! Nida Campsite is located in Nida, the administrative center of Neringa, between the Dune of Parnidis and the Baltic Sea, next to the old gliding school and the stone-age settlement of Five Hills. You can easily reach the snow-white beaches just a few hundred meters away, the sundial and the center of the town. Nida Campsite is ideal for whose who long for a warm-hearted welcome. Amazing sunsets!
